Step still to come (one reading among others)

Abomination — final horizon (hypothesis)

Life of the Antichrist, medieval illumination: he has the temple of Jerusalem rebuilt, then performs wonders. A medieval reading, not a biblical text; the final horizon remains a hypothesis.

In short

The announcement. Jesus, in the Gospel of Matthew, takes up an announcement by the prophet Daniel: after the regular sacrifice is taken away, a profanation, “the abomination of desolation”, will be set up in the holy place.

What happened. This has not happened yet, and nothing requires it to happen a second time. In Matthew, the abomination comes first, then the great distress, then the signs in the sky.

What is still debated. should a second fulfillment at the end of time be expected, when the events of 66 to 70 already match the text closely?

Main objection (in French for now)

Le modèle situe l’accomplissement fort de l’abomination autour de 70 (abomination-70, vínculo fuerte). Ce nœud ne le remplace pas et ne l’affaiblit pas : il représente un horizon supplémentaire, non démontré.

The text (World English Bible)

“When, therefore, you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),

Matt 24:15

“Forces from him will profane the sanctuary, even the fortress, and will take away the continual burnt offering. Then they will set up the abomination that makes desolate.

Dan 11:31

“From the time that the continual burnt offering is taken away and the abomination that makes desolate set up, there will be one thousand two hundred ninety days.

Dan 12:11
