On 29 July 2026, a reconstituted modern Sanhedrin published a decision asking that hostile forces be removed, that the Mashiach be revealed, that the Beit HaMikdash be rebuilt and that prophecy be restored in Israel. The move is disputed in the same publication by a text denying the religious authority of this Sanhedrin. This group is not representative of Judaism as a whole and has not publicly named any individual as the Messiah. No new development — construction project, authorization, institutional recognition — was found within the window from 28 August to 5 September 2026.
