The UN mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) documented 499 civilians killed and 1216 injured in Afghanistan as a result of the fighting with Pakistan, from October 2025 to the end of June 2026 (AP, 28 July 2026). In the first quarter of 2026, 372 civilians were killed, including the victims of the 16 March strike on a drug rehabilitation centre in Kabul (AFP). Pakistan says it targets only the hideouts of the armed TTP movement and accuses the Taliban government of tolerating them. On 17 October 2026, Pakistani and Taliban forces again exchanged artillery fire for several hours in Kurram district and Paktia province (AP).
Main objection (in French for now)
The cause is identifiable: the TTP hideouts and the long-standing dispute over the border (the Durand Line).
The text (World English Bible)
Jesus answered them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will lead many astray. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren’t troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places. But all these things are the beginning of birth pains.
Matt 24:4-8
When he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come!” Another came out, a red horse. To him who sat on it was given power to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another. There was given to him a great sword.
