At least 24 Christians were killed in a night attack on the community of Bin Mper (Kombun district, Mangu county, Plateau State) on 18 August 2026, and a separate attack on 16 August against the community of Jwak Maitumbi (same county) left at least 30 dead and destroyed more than 50 homes, shops, health centers and places of worship. On 2 August 2026, gunmen attacked St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Enugu State and abducted two people. On 20 August 2026, a 22-year-old woman who had converted from Christianity was arrested by police after a federal court had ruled in her favor; the Christian family who helped her faces prosecution. No new comparable mass attack was documented between 22 August and 5 September 2026.
Main objection (in French for now)
Les violences dans le Plateau et le Middle Belt nigérians mêlent des dimensions ethniques, foncières et pastorales à la dimension religieuse : la presse locale ne permet pas toujours d'isoler un motif uniquement religieux.
The text (World English Bible)
When he opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been killed for the Word of God, and for the testimony of the Lamb which they had. They cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, Master, the holy and true, until you judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” A long white robe was given to each of them. They were told that they should rest yet for a while, until their fellow servants and their brothers, who would also be killed even as they were, should complete their course.
Rev 6:9-11
It was given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. Authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation was given to him.
Rev 13:7
He will speak words against the Most High, and will wear out the saints of the Most High. He will plan to change the times and the law; and they will be given into his hand until a time and times and half a time.
Dan 7:25
