What is reported

On 3 September 2026, Israel stated that it had gained “operational control” of the Ali al-Taher complex, a ridge overlooking Nabatieh, after several weeks of fighting. Defense Minister Israel Katz presented this capture as completing the sealing of the security zone in southern Lebanon. Israel then widened its strikes: at least twelve people, including a child and two women, were killed in one night according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun accuses Israel of undermining the framework agreement negotiated under US auspices. Hezbollah launched explosive drones against troops in this sector three times in one week. Fighting continues on this ridge while a ceasefire has been in force since June 2026 in the rest of Lebanon.

Main objection (in French for now)

Jesus attaches an explicit reservation to this motif: “the end is not yet” (Matt 24:6).

The text (World English Bible)

Jesus answered them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will lead many astray. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren’t troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places. But all these things are the beginning of birth pains.

Matt 24:4-8

When he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come!” Another came out, a red horse. To him who sat on it was given power to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another. There was given to him a great sword.

Rev 6:3-4
