What is reported

The conflict that began on 28 February 2026 remains active beyond six months. On 1 September 2026, after a first resumption of fighting in a month, US strikes on regime targets killed six members of the Iranian naval forces and four people at a wedding party in Sirik; the same day, a US base in Jordan was targeted, Jordan intercepted ten Iranian ballistic missiles, and Kuwait and Bahrain reported Iranian drone attacks. On 3 September 2026, Iran carried out missile and drone strikes against Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates without hitting any facility housing US forces. The Israeli army also says it controls the strategic area of Ali al-Taher in Lebanon. A 60-day extension of the US–Iran ceasefire had been negotiated in mid-August 2026. On 6 and 7 September 2026, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly stated that Israel remained determined to bring about the fall of the Iranian regime and warned Tehran that a new attack would lead to a devastating response; the Israeli general staff also conducted a surprise exercise on 6 September presented as “a message to our enemies”.
