In short

The announcement. The prophet Isaiah, in the book of Isaiah, announces the “day of the LORD”, a day of wrath when the sun is darkened, when the moon and stars no longer shine, and when heaven and earth are violently shaken.

What happened. This has not happened yet. The text describes these upheavals as the day when God intervenes and reigns, without placing them in relation to the scenes of Revelation.

What is still debated. we do not know which precise moment in the sequence described by Revelation these passages correspond to.

Main objection (in French for now)

À positionner autour de la phase du jour du Seigneur sans imposer un verset précis comme « jour exact du 6e sceau ».

The text (World English Bible)

Behold, the day of the LORD comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger; to make the land a desolation, and to destroy its sinners out of it. For the stars of the sky and its constellations will not give their light. The sun will be darkened in its going out, and the moon will not cause its light to shine. I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity. I will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease, and will humble the arrogance of the terrible. I will make people more rare than fine gold, even a person than the pure gold of Ophir. Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will be shaken out of its place in the LORD of Armies’ wrath, and in the d…

Isa 13:9-13

Fear, the pit, and the snare are on you who inhabit the earth. It will happen that he who flees from the noise of the fear will fall into the pit; and he who comes up out of the middle of the pit will be taken in the snare; for the windows on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble. The earth is utterly broken. The earth is torn apart. The earth is shaken violently. The earth will stagger like a drunken man, and will sway back and forth like a hammock. Its disobedience will be heavy on it, and it will fall and not rise again. It will happen in that day that the LORD will punish the army of the high ones on high, and the kings of the earth on the earth. They will be gathe…
